With January drawing to a close, it’s looking like health and fitness took centre stage in the media this month, with plenty of people undertaking personal challenges to turn their health around and start taking proper care of their bodies. One of the biggest trends (for lack of a better term) is Veganuary, the pledge to steer clear of any and all animal products for the entire month of January, with a view to improve not only your health, but the environment, and make a stand for animal welfare. Although the lifestyle is still seen as controversial in many circles, it’s come a long way from the early days of simply surviving on tofu and rice.
